Cash for Clunkers

The QHMC supports the AHMF campaign to change the Cash for Clunkers policy announced during the election campaign. The QHMC endorses the AHMF's action in writing to both major parties expressing concern with some issues of the announced policy. The QHMC also encourages affiliated clubs and their members to raise, with their local candidates, any concerns they may have about labelling all pre 1995 cars as "gas guzzlers and unsafe", crushing all cars traded under the scheme & environmental impact of crushing old vehicles and replacing them with new one.

The AHMF has approached both major political parties to raise concerns that our movement has with the scheme as announced. While the AHMF & the QHMC support the idea of getting unsafe gas guzzlers of the roads, we have some concerns the way the policy implied that all pre 1995 cars could be regarded as unsafe gas guzzles.

Below are links to letters the AHMF has sent to both major political parties regarding the policy announcement.
